DEERFIELD — Marybeth Kravets and Imy Wax have always shared a passion: helping students with learning disabilities find the right match when it comes to college. Kravets and Wax are co-authors of the book, K & W Guide To College Programs and Services for Students with Learning Disabilities or AD/HD, which last fall was published in its 11th edition by The Princeton Review and Random House. “At least 10 percent of college-bound students have identified disabilities,” said Kravets, who holds a masters degree in guidance and counseling, and who spent 31 years as the college counselor at Deerfield High School …

LINCOLNSHIRE — The last few days have been big for Stevenson High School’s art pupils. On Saturday, several photography students saw their works put on display and judged in a professional studio. LINCOLNSHIRE — Parents of future Stevenson High School students: hold off on buying that iPad for future Patriots. The school is picking one out already. A new technology program that goes into effect this fall will put 2,000 of the Apple tablets into the hands of next year’s freshmen and sophomores. After graduation, the hardware might be theirs to keep, and the classes below them will receive products of their own. Cheerleading squad takes the floor Fifteen College of Lake County students, former rivals at high school cheerleading competitions, have formed a new Lancer Cheerleading Club, which gaåve its first public performance at men’s and women’s home basketball games on Jan. 17. Teresa Aguinaldo, interim executive director of Student Life, said she is excited about the revival of cheerleading at CLC after a long hiatus.
