Lincolnshire police blotter for Oct. 31 - Nov. 6, 2012

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Lincolnshire Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.
CURFEW
Police arrested two 16 year olds on Nov. 1 at the intersection of Milwaukee Avenue and Aptakisic Road for being out too late. The driver, a Hawthorn Woods boy, also was charged with illegal lane use, violating his graduated driver’s license and violating curfew. His passenger, a Buffalo Grove boy, was cited for violating curfew. Both have court appearances Nov. 14 in Mundelein.
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE
Nestor D. Gil, 24, of 316 N. Green Bay, No. 601, Waukegan, was arrested Nov. 3 at the intersection of state Route 22 and Berkshire Lane and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. He also was cited for illegal lane use and driving without a license. He has a Nov. 30 court date in Waukegan.
SCAM
Telephone scammers called a resident at the Sedgebrook Retirement Community and told her that her grandson had been involved in an auto accident, and that she had to send $1,000 for his legal defense. The woman complied, then checked with her family, and discovered that her grandson had not been in any accidents.
THEFT
A student-issued iPad was stolen on either Oct. 29 or Oct. 30 at Stevenson High School.
Maxine Ellman, 63, of 1408 Lincoln Place, Highland Park, was arrested Nov. 1 at Riverwoods Road and Farrington Drive on a warrant issued by the Lake Forest police for retail theft. According to the police report, officers approached her because her car was stalled at the intersection.
