Six Flags Great America is looking for 3,200 people to fill full-time, part-time and internships for its 2012 season.

The Gurnee theme park is holding four job fairs in February and March to hire seasonal positions, according to Six Flags Great America spokeswoman Jennifer Dugan-Savage.

Its first hiring event of 2012 is Saturday, Feb. 11.

“Six Flags Great America is looking for applicants who are friendly, enthusiastic and safety driven,” Dugan-Savage said.

Great America is looking to fill 3,200 seasonal jobs that will last up to eight months.

Positions are in guest relations, operations, retail, food service, security, paramedics, landscaping, games, aquatics and entertainment. A total of 50 paid internships are available and all fields of study are encouraged to apply, Dugan-Savage said.

The 2012 season opens to the public May 5.

Many of the soon-to-be employees will begin working early spring to get the park ready for opening, Dugan-Savage said.

Job seekers are encouraged to apply online prior to the job fairs, she said.

Great America employees get free park admission and are eligible for reward programs, scholarships, flexible scheduling and health benefits.

“Where else can you get paid while having a blast? Six Flags Great America has something for everyone, whether you are a high school student pursuing a first job, a collegian pursuing an internship or an adult looking for a unique working environment or second source of income,” Dugan-Savage said.
