State Bar event for general practitioners

Updated: February 20, 2012 8:08AM

The Illinois State Bar Association will kick off its 2012 Regional Event Series with “General Practice Update 2012 — Suburban Regional Event,” from 8:45 a.m.-5:30 p.m. on Feb. 9 at the Lincolnshire Marriott Resort, Ten Marriott Drive, in Lincolnshire. A complimentary reception follows from 5:30-7 p.m. and is open to all attorneys in the area, regardless of having attended the seminar.

This full-day continuing legal education program provides attorneys in general practice with updates including local rules in Lake County and northern Cook County districts; changes and updates to the Supreme Court rules; and new developments in online research tools. A discussion on recent developments in Medicaid and long-term care as well as employment law will be included.

The program is presented by the ISBA General Practice Section and co-sponsored by the Lake County Bar Association, McHenry County Bar Association, North Suburban Bar Association and the Northwest Suburban Bar Association. It qualifies for 7.0 credit hours based on a 60 minute Minimum Continuing Legal Education credit hour.

Cost, which includes lunch, is $150 for ISBA/co-sponsoring bar members and $305 for non-member lawyers and non-lawyers, by Feb. 3; thereafter, prices increase $15. Reservations are required for the complimentary reception. Payment must be made in advance by check, money order or credit card.

For information and/or to obtain a registration form, log onto the ISBA web site at www.isba.org, or call toll free (800) 252-8908.

The 33,000-member ISBA, with offices in Springfield and Chicago, provides professional services to attorneys, and education and services to the public.
