Letter: In praise of Sente’s work on concussion bill

House Representative Carol Sente is the sponsor of HB5431, signed into law by Gov. Quinn Tuesday Aug. 19. The bill outlines an online concussion certification program. This will be mandatory for high school coaches and athletic directors. The student athletes will be required to watch the online concussion video. Coaches of youth sports will be encouraged to become certified.

I previously worked with Representative Sente on another football safety bill, and because of her hard work this concussion bill has become law.
