Spend the last evening of August racing with your kids, ages 9 and older, at the seventh annual MainStreet Libertyville Twilight Shuffle 5K Run. The race starts at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 31 on Newberry Ave., north of Liberty Theater, and also ends there. Start times for the 3.12-mile run will be staggered to avoid congestion.
There will be a post-race party, with a light dinner and nonalcoholic refreshments, at Mickey Finn’s Brewery. The entry fee is $35 for adults, $25 for ages 9-17, which includes a goody bag and a Twilight Shuffle 5K t-shirt.
The online registration deadline is midnight, Wednesday, Aug. 27. There will be race morning registration at the packet pick-up location (to be announced) from 9 a.m.-noon.
Race director Beth Kraft said, “Families and runners of all ages and abilities love the Shuffle because of its gorgeous route through downtown Libertyville, enthusiastic crowds along the race course, family-oriented awards and fun post-race party at Mickey Finn’s.”
