Neiman Marcus hosted a cocktail reception in its Precious Jewel Salon, to announce the Women’s Board of the Adler Planetarium’s Celestial Ball. The annual benefit ball, themed ‘Starry Night’, will be held on Saturday, September 13 at the Planetarium.
The Michael John Collection was featured at the June 12 event. Tina Koegel, head of publicity for Neimans and Wendy Krimins, vice-president-general manager of Neiman Marcus welcomed the over 100 guests.
Neiman Marcus donated five percent of the evening’s jewelry sales and also gave a fabulous door prize, a stunning necklace from Michael John, won by Laura Myntti, a dedicated Adler Board member.
The Ball’s auction is always fabulous and features items that are not available ‘on the market’. One of the many unique items donated to the Ball auction this year came from Capt. James Lovell of Apollo 13 fame and is the flag from his flight.
Among the guests from the north shore were Linda Gertsman and Anja Schulmeyer of Winnetka and Lisa Bertagna and Sarah Fritz of Wilmette. From the western suburbs were Lisa Lewis and Michelle Vanderlaan of Oak Park. Elisa Primavera Bailey of Northfield is president of the Adler Women’s Board.
