Mosey on down to the Kid Korral & Kidway for family fun at the Lake County Fair, through Sunday, July 27 at Lake County Fairgrounds, 1060 E. Peterson Road, Grayslake. There are rides for the youngest kids, a petting zoo, monkey jockeys racing on dogs and pony rides.

At 11 a.m., 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. each day, you can get a touch of Measner Magic. “I have my own show truck that turns into a complete outdoor theater,” said John Measner. “I produce birds magically in different ways. They vanish invisibly and change into a live dog.”

Audience participation is an important element in this family show. “One audience member might have their head cut off,” Measner revealed. “Or something might happen to one of their shoes. I’ll close the show with an illusion where I cut myself in half.”

Admission to the fair is $8 weekdays, $10 Saturdays and Sundays; $5 for seniors and kids ages 6-12.
