Stevenson’s Willie Bourbon balances summer baseball, football

For some people, summer is about leisure activities — beaches, barbecues and ball games. That isn’t the case for Willie Bourbon.

Well, except for the ball games.

The 6-foot-1, 195-pound Stevenson senior-to-be is expected to be the Patriots’ starting quarterback for the season opener Aug. 29. This will be the third straight season Bourbon has quarterbacked the Patriots. He spent most of his June practice sessions working out with his receivers.

“It’s pretty big getting to know where they are going to be,” Bourbon said. “If I go left, I need to know where [senior receiver] Cam [Green] is on the right. It’s getting the timing down.”
