J.K. Rowling releases a new Harry Potter short story

Author J.K. Rowling has written a new short story starring an adult Harry Potter as he attends the Quidditch World Cup final. Rowling’s story is told in the form of a newspaper article by Rita Skeeter, one of Rowling’s more controversial characters. This is the first time Rowling has written about Harry as an adult since the epilogue of the last book in the series, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” which was released July 21 2007.

NBC’s “Today” has the full text of Rowling’s short story. According to Today:

Rowling shared her latest Pottermore.com story exclusively with TODAY.com. Written in the voice of the fictional Daily Prophet’s gossip correspondent Rita Skeeter, this post centers around the reunion of Harry Potter and his friends at the Quidditch World Cup Finals.
